Gifted Program Students who demonstrate outstanding intellectual and creative potential are provided a differentiated curriculum through the S.T.R.E.T.C.H. program. These students are offered challenging and enriching activities to meet their unique needs. Some of the components of the program are Math Olympiad, Wordmasters, Weekly News Quiz, National Current Events competition, National Geography competition, Mock trial, Drama, Future Problem Solvers, Creative Convention, Rube Goldberg creation, as well as ongoing opportunities in problem solving and higher order thinking.
Students can be nominated by teachers or parents in January, and will be tested in early Spring. The mission of the S.T.R.E.T.C.H. program is preparing students of character for life long learning. |
