What Is The Mehlville Distinguished Service Award?
The Mehlville Distinguished Service Award (DSA) is an annual District-wide award recognizing excellence in performance, service, character and contribution to the Mehlville School District.
Who May Be Nominated?
- Mehlville School District Parent
- Mehlville School District Resident
- Mehlville School District Business Person
- Mehlville School District Civic Group
- Former Mehlville School District employees who have not worked for the District within the past year and who currently volunteer in schools and/or throughout the District. (Early retirement incentive program hours do not count as volunteer service.)
- Former Board of Education members who have not served on the Board for the past three years and who currently volunteer in schools and/or throughout the District.
What Are The Criteria?
· The individual has made extraordinary contributions to the lives of Mehlville students or staff, an individual school or the District overall.
· An individual has had a profound effect on students or Mehlville schools.
· The individual has been involved in a variety of activities and services in one or more schools or throughout the District within the past year.
· The individual is supportive of students, staff and the District.
How Is A Person Nominated?
Any resident, student or staff member of the Mehlville School District may nominate. Nomination forms will be available at each District school, the District Communications Department and online at www.mehlvilleschooldistrict.com.
How Will Awardees Be Selected?
The DSA nominations will be reviewed and a winner will be selected by a committee made up of community members (3), staff (2), administration (2), students (1 from each high school), former honorees (2) and board members (2). Committee members will meet to discuss the nominations and then rate the nominations.
